The whole story....

About May we were driving around and Aidan saw a guy riding a motorcycle with a mohawk. He went nuts and really wanted his hair cut like that. I did my best to blow it off but it didn't work. He kept asking and finally I said "maybe for your birthday" (over two months away) assuming he would forget. He didn't forget and kept reminding me.

The day before his birthday he asked again so I asked him why he wanted his hair cut like that. He said "because I want everyone to know that I am different..."

What was I supposed to do?

I took him to the salon and sat him down in the chair and told him to tell the stylist what he wanted. He did, and she looked at me with southern Ohio minimum wage concern and said, "Does his Mother know?". I said "Yup".

He was in the first chair closest to the waiting area in the Lebanon Great Clips and the other folks waiting for a bad hair cut were smiling, and pointing and giving me the thumbs up, with the exception of one woman. She was about my age and had two boys about 8 and 10 who were hanging over the half wall between them and Aidan's chair. They were transfixed and just about drooling, the Mom was literally glaring at me. She realized what was ahead for her.

I have a series of black and white photos of Aidan a day or two after his birthday taken at a construction site. Nothing was really planned. He is shirtless because he spilled juice on his shirt on the way to the location. In some of the shots he is wearing a skull around his neck because he had it in his pocket. He kept the cut two or three weeks.

Where can you get a CD for a Dollar?

Sounds too good to be true? It isn't. Russian MP3 site for about a dollar a CD. The site is in English and easy to navagate with about 300,000 CDs available to download. Is it legal? I'm not sure, but it works very well.

Jupiter's Rare Triple Eclipse :: Astrobiology Magazine

At first glance, Jupiter looks like it has a mild case of the measles. Five spots - one colored white, one blue, and three black - are scattered across the upper half of the planet.

Closer inspection by NASA's Hubble Space Telescope reveals that these spots are actually a rare alignment of three of Jupiter's largest moons - Io, Ganymede, and Callisto - across the planet's face.

Voting Machine Owner Committed To Give Votes To Bush in 2004

COLUMBUS - The head of a company vying to sell voting machines in Ohio told Republicans in a recent fund-raising letter that he is "committed to helping Ohio deliver its electoral votes to the president next year."

The Aug. 14 letter from Walden O'Dell, chief executive of Diebold Inc. - who has become active in the re-election effort of President Bush - prompted Democrats this week to question the propriety of allowing O'Dell's company to calculate votes in the 2004 presidential election.

O'Dell attended a strategy pow-wow with wealthy Bush benefactors - known as Rangers and Pioneers - at the president's Crawford, Texas, ranch earlier this month. The next week, he penned invitations to a $1,000-a-plate fund-raiser to benefit the Ohio Republican Party's federal campaign fund - partially benefiting Bush - at his mansion in the Columbus suburb of Upper Arlington.

NASA's Great Observatories May Unravel 400-Year Old Supernova Mystery

Four hundred years ago, sky watchers, including the famous astronomer Johannes Kepler, were startled by the sudden appearance of a "new star" in the western sky, rivaling the brilliance of the nearby planets. Now, astronomers using NASA's three Great Observatories are unraveling the mysteries of the expanding remains of Kepler's supernova, the last such object seen to explode in our Milky Way galaxy.

See Video of Huge Asteroid Flying Past Earth Today

The largest asteroid ever known to pass near Earth was flying by the planet today as professional and backyard astronomers kept a keen eye. Asteroid Toutatis is about 2.9 miles long and 1.5 miles wide (4.6 by 2.4 kilometers). Early this morning it was within a million miles of Earth, or about four times the distance to the Moon.

Parachute fails, capsule may be lost...

The Genesis sample return capsule entered Earth's atmosphere at 9:52:47 a.m. MDT and entered the preplanned entry ellipse in the Utah Test and Training Range as predicted. However, the Genesis capsule, as a result of its parachute not deploying, impacted the ground at a speed of 311 kilometers per hour (193 mph). The impact occurred near Granite Peak on a remote portion of the range. No people or structures were anywhere near the area.
